Souderton Holiday Parade
11 am Saturday, December 1, 2018
This year our theme is a Futuristic Holiday
Deadline for parade registration: November 14, 2018.
There is no fee to participate in the parade but we ask all commercial registrants to offer a donation to help us keep this parade sustainable. Our generous sponsor funds the advertising to build an audience.
It takes months of planning and a large investment of time by many dedicated volunteers to bring the parade to you. Please show your appreciation for their hard work on your behalf by making a donation. Thank You!
We are thankful this holiday season for the lifestyle we enjoy in the community we share.
Parade Participant information:
If you are staging at Indian Crest:
-
You must enter the lot from Crest Drive on 4th Street.
-
The Route 113 entrance will be closed at 8:30 am in preparation for the parade.
-
There will be a check-in point as you enter Crest Drive. That volunteer will give you directions on when to proceed to the secondary parade check-in point.
-
The parade marshal will point you to the correct line up location and available parking.
-
Safety is our primary concern and in that lot especially, the mix of big trucks and small children calls for a high degree of caution. Please follow directions and be very aware of children in the lot.
If you are staging at Grace Bible:
-
You must enter the lot from Railroad Avenue.
-
All cars that enter the lot must stop at the check-in point with the parade marshals.
-
Marshals will direct you to the correct location and give out dash plaques. Please follow the directions of the marshals. The lot is organized chaos and in order for it to be safe, organized chaos, you need to listen to the marshals. Last minute changes happen and they will make the final determination regarding any issues that come up.
-
Reliance road will be closed for the parade so you must access Railroad from either Summit or Chestnut.
-
The entrance from Main Street to the Grace Bible Lot will also be closed for the parade from 8:30 am.
-
Do not drop participants off on Main Street. It is not safe. Park off site and walk to them to their staging location. This was a huge problem last year and if we see it again this year the individuals who are dropped off on Main Street will not be permitted to participate in the parade.
-
There is no parking in this lot; parking areas around town are marked on the parade map which is linked below.
-
Carpooling is the best way to handle large groups in this lot. Meet earlier at a different location and then you can drop off participants in the lot or park within walking distance to the lot.
-
Drop offs in the lot must enter from Railroad Avenue, and follow the directions of the parade marshals at the check points. There is a map at the link below.
If you are staging on Reliance West (pool side):
-
Participant parking and drop off is at the pool parking lot. The lot will be accessible from Wile and Colonial.
-
Reliance Road will be closed from Wile to 4th street. Only parade participants will be permitted within those boundaries.
-
Please use the crosswalks to the park to walk to meet your group on Reliance. Do not walk in the street! Wile Avenue is open to traffic until it reaches Reliance Road. Where there are road closures there is always some confusion; in order to ensure safety please use caution when crossing streets where drivers may be distracted.
Parade volunteers will hand out the dash plaques to drivers when they arrive at their staging location. These must be displayed on the driver’s side of your dashboard once you enter the staging area and left in place during the parade so the announcers can identify your group.
We have placed your group based on the information you supplied. When you are reviewing your placement be aware that we stage large trucks and trailers at Indian Crest. If you feel you may have been placed incorrectly, please feel free to call or email info@stmainst.org to review.
Please be aware that there is NO PARKING at EMC this year due to the ongoing construction. Be sure to plan your participant pick up point accordingly.
Please share this information with everyone in your group to ensure they know where they need to be on parade day.
